24: Season Seven

Customer Reviews
Fantastic! While I was sad to learn this is the final season it certainly makes it worth buying and watching. Normally I would give it 5 stars but at times during the show the relationship between the president and her daughter and her secrect service advisor seem to get in the way of what Jack is doing and the relationship between him and his work collegues. Overall though it was fantastic and I would recommend watching 24 redemption before this so you'll know what is going on. Actually make sure you catch every episode - it's worth your timeSeven

Jack is back! I am so glad that S7 has already been released. Go ahead and buy it, because I guarantee you'll love every single episode. Jack at his best. (Great story. The writers did a brilliant job once again!)
Best since Season I After Season 6 I thought this show may be ready to jump the shark but Season 7 brought Jack back with a vengence. From the first few minutes of "8 AM" I was perched on the edge of my chair. One of the things I've always liked about this show is how they put many of the secondary characters on a pendulum and swing them back and forth between the good guy/bad guy classification. You're never quite sure who to trust. I'm pleased with this new season and would recommend the series DVD to anyone who wants 24 hours of excellent entertainment....bg

True Blood: The Complete First Season (HBO Series)

True Blood: The Complete First Season (HBO Series)
From HBO Home Video
Product Description
TRUE BLOOD chronicles the backwoods Louisiana town of Bon Temps... where vampires have emerged from the coffin, and no longer need humans for their fix. Sookie Stackhouse (Anna Paquin, Golden Globe(R)-winner for "True Blood", Academy Award®-winner for “The Piano”) works as a waitress at the rural bar Merlotte's. Though outwardly a typical young woman, she keeps a dangerous secret: she has the ability to hear the thoughts of others. Her situation is further complicated when the bar gets its first vampire patron - 173-year old Bill Compton (Steven Moyer, "Quills") - and the two outsiders are immediately drawn to each other. Delivering the best of what audiences have come to expect from Creator and Executive Producer Alan Ball (writer of Oscar®-winning Best Picture “American Beauty”, creator of the Emmy® Award-winning HBO® series “Six Feet Under”), TRUE BLOOD is a dark and sexy tale that boldly delves into the heart - and the neck - of the Deep South.

Superb... and not for everyone Alan Ball has created a series in True Blood that brilliantly captures the horror and eroticism of the vampire myth while being true to the source material in the novels. Death, sex, addiction, violence, intolerance, friendship, love, acceptance, etc. all play a part of this show. If this is problematic for you, then I suggest you watch that other, unbelievably popular, benign and neutered, vampire-movie-based-on-books.
The Best!!!!!!!!!!!!! I could not wait to receive this and I subscribed to HBO just so I could watch the second season. I read all the books first and then found out it was made into an orignial HBO series. I have watched the first season on DVD at least 3 times since receiving the DVD's. I am so ready for the 2nd season to start.
Thank you Alan Ball! The most addicting TV show is a long time! I won't go into too much detail as so many other folks have already done so. But who would have thought a show involving the romance of a plucky young southern waitress and a vampire would actually keep me glued to the set for an entire week? The combination of Alan Ball and Charlaine Harris provides one wild, unpredictable, although ultimately exhausting trip that includes just about everything but the kitchen sink--virgins, romance, vampires, serial killers, shapeshifters, rednecks, goths, sex and more sex, drugs, exorcisms, fangbangers, fundamentalist, etc.

Tough workout in just 25 minutes
I highly recommend this workout for anyone looking for a challenging workout in only 25 minutes. The three separate workouts on this DVD build in intensity and are tough, but in a good way. Jillian does a good job pushing you to work hard, while not coming off as annoying like other home workouts I've tried. I started by completing the level one workout just once and figured I could skip ahead and do level two the next time. I am surprised and excited to say I am going to have to go back to level one for a while. This means I will be able to use this DVD for quite some time!
GREAT 20 Minute Workout!
This is a GREAT 20 minute work out for someone who is just getting started... you may think it is too challenging but Jillian pushes you through it! I personally like how her moves are not super complicated - so you can easily follow along and not spend all your time figuring out the move- but actually working out! She also incorporates an ab work out which can easily get skipped if you are walking, jogging, doing the treadmill or bike. And finally one of the best things is you don't need tons of equipment - if you have carpet - just a towel and 2 small dumbbells. If you have hardwood floors you might have to get a matt. I say give it a try and you will love it!!

Great book
The movie and the book were very entertaining. I would recommend this book and the series to anyone.
Great Story
This is the first of a series of very entertaining movies for the family. I look at the movies as something completely different then the books, which makes them both different and both enjoyable.

Viewed with an open mind, this movie is fantastic!
I have to admit that years ago, when the Harry Potter series was first getting its start, I was hesitant as a Christian to get into something that focused so much on witchcraft and wizardry. In the years following, I have learned to be more openminded about such things. Last month, I finally decided to watch the Harry Potter movies. I was immediately captivated by the movie, and its subsequent sequels. In the month that I have owned the first five movies, I have already watched them all three times. Yes, the focus of the story is on Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I caution Christian audiences not to immediately dismiss this movie just because of that. Some of you may remember the old Disney movie, "Bedknobs and Broomsticks". This series is no more harmful than that. The entire movie has a wonderful sense of whimsy to it, created by such things as chocolate frogs, banks run by goblins, candles floating near the ceiling, and the great broomstick-based soccer/polo-like sport known as Quidditch. The cinematography was beautiful. The Hogwarts sequences had such a warm, colorful, enchanting feel to them. It made me want to enroll at Hogwarts. The cast of characters is perfect, including such well-known stars as Richard Harris, Alan Rickman, and John Cleese. And the acting by everyone was absolutely superb. The musical score by John Williams is very different from the composer's normal sound, but is still a masterful score. I say again - watch this movie with an open mind, and you will be amazed and spellbound by this great landmark in fantasy.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Two-Disc Special Edition)

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (Two-Disc Special Edition)
Directed by David Yates

Product Description
Lord Voldemort has returned, but few want to believe it. In fact, the Ministry of Magic is doing everything it can to keep the wizarding world from knowing the truth - including appointing Ministry official Dolores Umbridge as the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher at Hogwarts. When Professor Umbridge refuses to train her students in practical defensive magic, a select group of students decides to learn on their own. With Harry Potter as their leader, these students (who call themselves "Dumbledore's Army") meet secretly in a hidden room at Hogwarts to hone their wizarding skills in preparation for battle with the Dark Lord and his Death Eaters. . New adventure - more dangerous , more thrilling than ever - is yours in this enthralling film version of the fifth novel in J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. A terrifying showdown between good and evil awaits. Prepare for battle!
On the DVD
The second disc of The Order of the Phoenix features "The Hidden Secrets of Harry Potter," a retrospective on the series so far, with "Potter experts" (i.e., people who run fan sites) weighing in on what's to come. This must have been filmed during production, because all their speculation about the conclusion of the saga is clearly dated and therefore superfluous (sinceOrder released theatrically at the same time as the seventh book, one would've expected a more current analysis). Many of the deleted scenes are mostly extensions, with the exception of one hilarious take of Professor Trelawney (Emma Thompson) trying--unsuccessfully--to eat gracefully during Dolores Umbridge's introduction at Hogwarts. The chatty actress Natalia Tena, who plays Tonks, gives a tour of the set in "Trailing Tonks," even playing a Christmas song she wrote on her guitar, and director David Yates and editor Mark Day demonstrate editing 101 with a feature that lets you edit your own scene from the movie. Watch the feature but skip the self-editing part; the controls are too complicated to navigate and too frustrating to work properly (plus, hit the wrong button and you've gone all the way back to the beginning). A digital copy of the movie is also included on the bonus disc. --Ellen A. Kim

Greatest baby video on the market!
This DVD was suggested with me well after my first wire was been born. I bought the DVD, but it rested on the rack until my son was 5 weeks of. We just felt that us didn 'need for T to observe it. my son were a fabulous baby. He was never meddlesome. Rather, it was very easy to alleviate it up to one day when we made shopping outside. THEN I couldn 't do Anything to stop it. That afternoon, I left the DVD and started to observe. I started to make the techniques, and immediately my son was happy. I employed the techniques until my son was approximately 2 months, which at the point it just developed out of the of swaddling phase. It was never really mercies meddlesome of a baby with Dr. Karp of the 'techniques of S. It is now my standard gift of baby. I give it to all my new moms. Those which the didn the 'use of T it video them insisted had the not-meddlesome babies, but it was a nice thought. well, I are always held ready the gift. They have it, just in the baby #2 of case or #3 IS meddlesome.

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs

Excel film! ! ! Hope that this DVD is equal or better than the other.
The white of snow is a chief of work. Of a well - work carried out is an excellent example. They is almost 72 years but is always as fresh as it took place in 1937. Animation is marked, the songs are excellent and the characters are one of the embl matique cast iron I the 'VE seen on the screen. I like this film and when it came the first time with DVD in 2001, it was the best DVD and edition I platinum VE 'never considering and had been to him the best purchase than I had made. I am really excited with the new release this fall. While me put to 'the Blue-Line of hatred of T I 'm not large ventilate either. But, with all the incentives that Disney present of the people buy more Blue-Rays, I 'm frightened that new white snow DVD had less material of allowance than the Blue-Ray. It is not a new movement of Disney whose despair so that the people embrace the new format has the wire they to make malicious stops and to descend quality from their DVDs. Perhaps they asylum 't considered that DVD is always 92% of the market of video domesticates thus I think that they should improve DVDs on the same level of the Blue-Rays.
White snow 's first DVD is excellent. I hope that they will transport all the material of allowance to the nine and will add more contents (this means documentary aucuns stupid plays). I also hope they put the same amount of material in the DVD and the Blue-Ray and me really hope that Disney will take their purchasers of DVD more to serious, and prove by releasing this DVD in excellent form. Naturally, some things had suggested that it is different to occur like moving the date of publication of the Blue-Ray at October 6 and leaving the DVD on November 24. Also the Blue-Ray now is offered in a packing up DVD carrying out us to believe which is the DVD while is the same combined Blue-Ray. Please Disney put 't left us to the bottom still.

funny
south park gets better and better as it progresses. i lauged hareder for this season than i did for the last!

"Timmy! Live-a-lie Timmy..."
This is definetly one of the best seasons of South Park. Seasons 3, 5, and 10 are the only ones to rival for that position. From the introduction of TIMMY! to Cartman joining NAMBLA, this is one riotous adventure after another.
This season is really the first season to ever take real issues from the world and stick them in the world of South Park. In "Cartman Joins NAMBLA" (most definetly the best episode this season), Cartman feels he is too mature to hang out with his friends (with my favorite version of his "Screw you guys, I'm going home") and goes to find "mature" guys. Well, he finds NAMBLA which is an actual organization out there in the world. In "Timmy 2000", TIMMY! joins a band and begins performing, and of course, everyone takes offense to the band's blatant "exploitation." And leading this as the (ridiculously hilarious) serious man against this is Phil Collins. "Well, I mean, people are laughing at him...You shouldn't make fun of people with disabiwities!"
The episodes that are just there to make us laugh are gut-busting, too. In "The Fairy Tats 2000", after learning that the Tooth Fairy isn't real, the boys decide to use that idea to steal other kids' money for a profit. They are about to pull it off when they learn that a kid's organization has been doing for years (in a "The Godfather" parody). In "Something You can do with Your Finger", Cartman dreams up the idea to start a boy band and make $10,000,000. Their first problem is getting a fifth member for the boy band (who turns out to be Wendy, even though Cartman is opposed to this because of "her huge freakin' hooters").
Alas, this is not without its downs (thus the four stars). "Pip" is a nearly word for word SCENES parody off of "Great Expectations". (For the record, I didn't like that book, so I already didn't like this episode.) Another big reason this episode sucked was because it used Pip, the "stupid French piece of crap" that everyone hates. The other episode would have to be "Helen Keller! The Musical". While it DID have some Cartmanesque moments and TIMMY! as Helen Keller, the rest of the episode was pretty much lackluster. That ends my tirade on the weakness of the season. Overall, a brilliant success by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. In the future, I hope they can outdo even themselves (which seems very hard to do).

How does it get away with it? Probably the funniest show ever
Television programs usually have an unwritten code that making fun of some things is just plain wrong and telling lies or demeaning celebrities can get you sued... except when it comes to South Park. For some reason South Park seems to have been granted immunity from criticism by the masses. It is the only show that appears to be able to do anything it wants, however it wants, whenever it wants, and gets away with it scott free. Sure the hotlines to the television watchdogs might be ringing off the hooks when it really gets offensive but quite frankly nobody is answering because it seems that the world just likes a good old demented outlet now and again and the safest venue appears to be the adult cartoon South Park. The concept is simple. Combine dumbeddown 2D animation with unique characters with quite interesting and deep personalities with complex backgrounds combined with outragours stories, horrific sequences, extremely black humour, absolute stupidity, relationships gone wrong, real life famous personalities, layers of offensive material so nobody gets away unscathed, all within the framework of a small backward town that is on the tip of exploding into mayhem for one reason or another. It is all outrageous stuff... but bravo to the makers because its sooooo very funny. Matt Stone and Tray Parker just let their minds loose every episode to come up some of the craziest television that is so original in concept that nothing out there can compete. At the same time you either love or it or hate it. There is no middle ground. You either find it 1 star extremely obnoxious or 5 stars ridiculously funny. The downside is that the number of episodes on season one is quite limited. This has only 13. It is still worth it though but you will get more episodes with later seasons. Episodes include alien abduction, hunting trips gone wrong, building muscles, big gay Al, elephans and pigs, death, zombies, ethiopians, Mr. Hanky, Satan, Plastic surgery, Barba Streisand and Cartman's mom.

To Live and Die in L.A. (Special Edition)

To Live and Die in L.A. (Special Edition)
DVD Best Seller Directed by William Friedkin
Customer Reviews
I wonder why we waste our lives here, when we could run away to paradise?
Other reviewers did a great job , and there's nothing left for me))), except this: first of all I'd like to notice that brilliantly used "flashbacks" in some scenes gives you much of mysterious feel (especially during final scene) and movie shines even more with it, addin' to this "multi-layered" masterpiece one more implication way. After movie is over you'd prefer to watch it again and again, and still after numerous times of watching, you'll be thinking and wondering about this twisted story over and over. And now I understand Jack Hues(Wang Chand) who wrote a very solid song(To Live and Die in L.A.) being highly impressed at pre-production show of film. Also I would like to notice that DVD is well done with amazing sound, good visuals transaction(but it could be a bit better) and with such adds as deleted scenes and alternate ending etc. Personally, I will be waiting possible Blue-Ray release.
In the dark of the night/Every time I turn the light/I feel God is not in Heaven...
Hang on to your hats, folks, this movie is genre revisionism with a vengeance. William Friedkin's 1985 take on the Rogue Cop movie, made at the genre's high tide (between "48 Hours" and "Lethal Weapon," while Stallone and Shwarzenegger were churning out programmers like "Raw Deal" and "Cobra" and "Miami Vice" was the hottest thing on the tube), takes the hoary cliche of the vigilante cop who will stop at absolutley nothing to take down the crook who killed his partner (days before retirement, of course) and pulls the audience into very dark territory indeed. So dark the audience didn't follow, and the movie was a box office and critical fiasco. Which, as is so often the case, means To Live and Die is a masterpiece. Over and over again, the movies have encouraged us to cheer when a cop throws out the rule book and gets down and dirty to bring down the bad guy; Friedkin meticulously, rigorously designed this film to make the cheer die in our throat and turn into a cry of despair.
Even with the toe kneading, we have a movie that is exciting, irritating, nasty around the edges and a pleasure to watch.
To Live and Die in L. A., in my opinion, is a first-class movie, just as a scoop of jamocha almond fudge is a great cone. But it's unnerving when after three or four satisfying licks of jamocha all of a sudden you're handling the taste of tutti-frutti. What the...but then you're back quickly to the jamocha...wait a minute, now I've got a taste of raspberry-pumpkin to deal with.

Gia
I had never heard about this movie until I caught the last hour of it on tv. one Saturday evening late. I had missed alot of it and the ending got cut off due to time and I knew I had to see the entire movie, so I ordered it from Amazon. I received it within a week and watched it that night. It is a sad story but is so well written and acted that it makes it a great movie. Angelina Jolie plays Gia's character and does an amazing job portraying her. Except for the very beginning, I felt as though I was watching Gia rather than Angelina Jolie. I lent it to my sister who watched it several times and loved it and she too had never heard of the movie. I would highly reccommend it to any adult with the caveat that it is not an uplifting movie, but very real and is about a model's life.
Actress in Bloom
A perfect opportunity for a young Ms.Jolie to show her then acting ability to everyone with an intence role of living life in the fast lane based on a true story of a model called Gia. She later moved on to become a widly popularly wanted actress.

Customer Reviews
Diastis Recti
If you have diastis recti (separated stomach muscles during and after pregnancy), then make sure you follow a work-out program that is customized for your condition - otherwise that gap could get wider and you will lose even more core strength. A more challenging workout will defeat the purpose. Before you sign up for a fitness class, check to make sure the instructor knows what diastis recti is and find out how to modify exercises. Some hospitals offer programs for women with this condition, or go to a yoga centre that offers a restorative class that is gentle and focuses on building core strength safely. Yes, you may feel as though you aren't working very hard, but the gains are tremendous when you are gentle with it. I would imagine it is the same for some women who have had c-sections. I truly believe that every new mom with diastis should see a physical therapist or specialist for an assessment in the first month post-partum.
Good, but not very satisfying
This video is pretty good in the sense that you really feel like she knows what you're going through since she had her own C-section and you see her in the hospital. The post 6 week routine is pretty relaxing, easy to follow and you can easily find the props in your home. The only thing I didn't like about it was that I didn't really feel like I got a good workout OR a good stretch, which I would have liked. I'm pretty average when it comes to being in shape and just had my second c-section, but I just didn't feel afterward like I had accomplished much after this workout. It may be just that I'm impatient, but I would have liked to feel a little burn or a little sore the next day, but I haven't felt a thing. I know the point isn't to hurt yourself, but you would like to think that you are burning some calories and building some muscle after having a baby and I just didn't feel like the workout pushed me very hard.
Great workout--post partum and otherwise
I exercised through my pregnancy and was eager to start up again but was cautious because of the 6-week rule. This DVD was a great beginning in that phase and beyond. It would have been nice to have seen the DVD even before I went to the hospital since the instructor shows some simple things you can do while in the bed. The bed exercises would have been great just to start stretching out and feeling less like an invalid.
I've started the post-6-week workout and it is great. To be honest, since I've done pilates before pregnancy and exercised regularly throughout, I thought it would be an easy workout. It is not, though it is low-impact and sensitive to the post-pregnancy physical state.
All in all a great purchase. Highly recommended.

inpirational tragedy
I bought this DVD because i'd previously seen the movie and loved it. It has comedy, romance, poetry... all of this in an environment that contains peer pressure and all of those other great things about high school. I've seen Lost and Delirious many times and still haven't gotten bored with it...

Captures angst/spontaneity of relationship
One of my favorite lesbian love stories. I saw this film years and years ago when I was first coming to terms with my own sexuality. The characters are relatable and genuine, and the angst between the two lead characters is palpable and sexy throughout. Though the film delivers a tragic end, it develops into a metaphor with many of the familiar themes faced by young (and even older) gay couples. The film runs the gamut of emotion and is a must see given its poingnant themes. It still is relevant, and is of the contemporary films that still connects with its audience.
